TRG and RMIT have now been working together for over three years, a mutually beneficial partnership between two of Vietnam’s most successful and forward-thinking organisations.

TRG currently employs several RMIT graduates, and in 2006 over 20 RMIT students have undertaken internships at TRG, learning skills to help them with their studies and equip them for their future careers.

TRG’s relationship with RMIT means we benefit from RMIT’s modern, up-to-the-minute teaching, and RMIT get to add value to their courses by offering practical internships allowing students to apply their learning in a real-life environment.

As well as offering internships, TRG regularly attends RMIT careers fairs, giving advice to students about their future careers and answering any questions the students may have.

Karl Theisen, Deputy Academic Registrar at RMIT, talks about RMIT’s relationship with TRG:

“RMIT Vietnam is just 5 years old and we have had a relationship with TRG since very early on. Our first internship students went to work for TRG in October of 2003 and since then TRG has been the largest single employer of RMIT student interns. I also believe TRG is the single largest employer of RMIT graduates.

The internship programme has been a significant component of our undergraduate degrees insofar as integrating internships into specific courses for each degree course. The importance for students is far reaching, ranging from an opportunity to gain real work experience to helping them understand their studies in a real world context. TRG in particular has been a valued partner for RMIT, assisting the development of our internship programme in its early stages and integrating it into their recruitment process.

For students I believe TRG offers a range of opportunities and is one of very few organisations that offer internships to students across our degree programmes: Commerce, Design and Software Engineering. Also, given the fact that TRG is not a huge, impersonal office with hundreds of employees, interns have more chance to show their talents and get involved in real client projects.

We certainly look forward to continuing our relationship with TRG well into the future, as do our students.”
