Network Operations Centre (NOC) TRG has a hosting department dedicated to data centre operations. The NOC is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Visual and automated reporting are checked and acted upon when required.
Staff are trained and appropriate documentation is maintained regarding customer system configuration to ensure the information needed is available. Our NOC staff are instrumental in providing the level of service that our customers demand. TRG has a policy of staff training.
Customer support issues are managed using an Incident Logging System. Support issues are categorised using the following definitions - Non-Critical enquiry or not related to service
- Low - customer's services are not affected
- Medium - Customers services are affected or degraded but not totally unavailable
- High - Customers services are severely affected or are totally unavailable
Monitoring & Reporting TRG provides ICMP, HTTP and SSL port monitoring as standard. This is displayed visually in our NOC and services-down incidents are responded to according to the procedures in place.
Advanced monitoring analyses the response received and performs an evaluation as to whether the distributed system is responding, as it should. If an error is detected a visual alert as well as an email alert is raised automatically. Action can then be taken to speedily resolve the issue.
TRG provide standard and custom monitoring services
Standard - HTTP, SSL service is checked for availability
- Server is checked for ICMP response
- Custom services such as SMTP and SSL are monitored for availability
Advanced content monitoring & reporting - Application response is monitored by comparing the actual response received form a server with a predefined checksum
- Response time measurement allows a historical view of how the application is performing.
- Automated reporting through automated e-mail highlights a failure of the system to return content correctly.

Secure Port VLAN TRG recognises the fact that some servers hold sensitive information that needs a higher level of network segregation. To cater for such servers we provide secure ports. This allows our communications equipment to provide an isolated segment to transfer data behind the shared firewall.
Internet Transit feed TRG can provide a variety of Internet transit feed options based on the exact requirements of our clients. We can provide the following options on our shared Internet Transit feed.
Options Shared feed with rate limiting using a Packetshaper 4000. This enables QoS so you get the bandwidth you need. Coupled with the bandwidth reporting function makes an ideal choice to host a distributed solution. A range of bandwidth starting from 64Kbs and upgradeable in 64Kbs, 128Kbs, 256 Kbs, 512Kbs and 1Mbs units. For customers that require 1Mbps and over TRG offers a 95th percentile mechanism whereby the bandwidth allocation is provided dynamically and the variable cost component is invoiced in arrears. |
