Corporate Citizenship

TRG is very active in Vietnam’s community, supporting and sponsoring organisations working in three key areas.

The 2nd Blood Donation Drive - 30th June 2010
Allowing more employees to contribute to and participate in a variety of CSR activities, our company has organised 3 Blood Donation drives in this year.

Environmental Protection
3rd April 2010, TRG International's staff took a trip to Can Gio Mangrove Forest with a environmental protection purpose. It was a great opportunity to explore the mangrove forest life in reality.

Humanitarian Blood Donation
On 3rd February 2010, 7 TRG International members located in HCMC office joined the humanitarian blood donation program organized by HCMC Red Cross on Vietnamese traditional Tet occasion.

Click-to-donate Card Campaign
Following the successful click-to-donate Christmas card 2006, this year TRG continues with Click-to-donate Christmas e-card and click-to-donate TET e-card. With our partners' help, we have been raising a lot of money for local Vietnam charities like Saigon Children Charity, Wildlife At Risk, Thien Phuoc.

Click-to-donate card campaign is a good chance for us to share our good fortune with others less fortunate!!!

Children
Children are the future of Vietnam, but whilst Vietnam’s economy is growing, many children are yet to feel the benefits. Some are homeless, living on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City and selling chewing gum or postcards to eke out a living; while in rural areas, some children miss out on their education, either because they have to work to support their families, or because they live too far away from their nearest school and cannot afford simple transportation.

TRG supports a number of organisations working to improve the lives of Vietnam’s disadvantaged children, via direct donations, involvement in fundraising events, and software and IT services at preferential rates.

AIDS/HIV awareness & prevention
It is estimated that over 160,000 people in Vietnam are HIV+, for two primary reasons – a lack of education about the issue, and lack of access to condoms. Prostitution and drug use are taboo subjects in Vietnam, so communicating with those involved is often difficult, getting them to educate others about their experiences even harder.

TRG works with organisations focusing on both of these key issues by sponsoring awareness-raising events and supplying discounted services.

Vietnamese Heritage
As Vietnam joins the global economy and continues to modernise, there is a danger that many of its traditions may be left behind. Whilst TRG is one of the companies driving that development, we recognise the need to protect the country’s heritage both for future generations and for the booming tourist industry, who visit Vietnam not because of its economic growth but because of its fascinating history and traditions.

We are currently sponsoring Eleanor Clapham, an Australian artist using her talents to revive interest in traditional Vietnamese opera, and have also launched our own Vietnam Opera website; over the next year we will be expanding our activities to support other heritage-related causes.

In addition to the above, we also supply discounted software and IT services to several NGOs operating in Vietnam, including Oxfam and Global Fund Against Malaria.
