Project Manager - Software Implementation

 

I’m a Software Implementation Project Manager at TRG International. That means - you guessed it - I’m responsible for successfully managing software implementation projects (Infor SunSystems and other large enterprise solutions) for our clients, which involves communicating with our clients for the duration of the project, managing client expectations, making sure projects are profitable, and managing the project team to ensure a successful outcome for both TRG and the client.

So what does a TRG Project Manager actually do all day? How long have you got?! I prepare the project plans, allocate resources, assign tasks to my team, and set milestones, targets and deliverables. I also have to identify potential risks and formulate a mitigation strategy for dealing with them.

I talk to our clients every day to make sure we’re meeting their requirements, and to keep them informed of the project’s progress before they ask me. I also communicate with all project stakeholders at TRG to make sure everyone is up to speed at all times.

I make sure that all our project resources are being used as effectively as possible. I monitor the overall progress of the project to make sure everything is on track, and control the scope of the project to make sure we don’t lose our way.

I also have to monitor the project finances, to ensure projects stay profitable and within budget, and take quick effective action when they don’t! And, most importantly of all, I manage my project team to make sure they’re motivated, productive and recognised.

Job Requirements

You’ll need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration or IT
  • MUST possess Professional Certification as a Project Manager e.g. PRINCE2, IPMA or PMI, Strong project management skills,
  • At least 5 years of work experience, 3 years as Project Manager for ERP implementation projects
  • Experience in managing customer expectations and establishing strong customer relationships
  • Experience in leading teams and delivering successful results
  • Understanding of Quality and Risk Management aspects
  • Understanding of business concepts
  • Business process and ERP application knowledge
  • Ability to understand and discuss the application of ERP software solutions
  • Excellent written and spoken English (if overseas based) or Vietnamese (if based in Vietnam)
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
